Dear Somos Families and Friends,

As you may have seen on the Somos Philly website, you have learned that Somos Philly will not continue after the partners’ decision to separate. I remain deeply grateful for the families and children who made the past two summers so meaningful.

¡Viva Verano! is my new and separate camp, created with the joy, growth, and connection I experienced with your children. ¡Viva Verano! reflects my personal vision and approach, focusing on an individualized experience inspired by what resonates with children. Seeing their confidence and curiosity about Latin America grow showed the importance of creating a space that blends language learning, cultural connection, kindness toward one another, respect for the Earth, and

¡Viva Verano! intentionally centers connection, unity, and shared identity within each region we explore. Through language, culture, music, dance, and your children’s favorite, cooking, children experience Spanish not as a subject, but as an opening into new relationships, shared experiences, and a vibrant cultural community.

With age-appropriate immersion, Voces del Mundo empowers older campers to develop voice and global awareness, while Chispas de la Tierra nurtures curiosity and care for our planet in younger children. Every moment is designed for children to Learn the Language + Live the Culture!

 

I am endlessly grateful to you and, in particular, to your children. The magic of the past two summers existed because of them—their curiosity, laughter, and openness. As we look ahead, I humbly ask for your trust once more through ¡Viva Verano!.
